Well, I rarely, if ever, comment on current events, but this one has left me feeling numb and sad.

It has been with grief that I have followed the news about the Ft. Hood killings. Having many relatives in the Armed Forces in the past and present, I have been sending up prayers for those who have lost a loved one there, and also for the survivors.

I could only mutter a groan of "oh no" when I read that many are reporting the shooter as saying "Allah is great" as he pulled the trigger, killing the 13 people, and wounding others. I am praying that this doesn't stir up a wave of hatred towards others of that faith.
Not being a vicious person by nature, that however doesn't mean I wouldn't like to kick the sonofbitch for what he did. No excuse for that, none whatsoever. I hope he recovers so they can put him away forever! *sound of grinding teeth* and the man as a psychatrist! Couldn't he recognize the signs and ask for help? Oh no, let's just shoot people!

I have never understood the mindset (which seems to be mostly male, sorry you peaceful male types, but that's the way it is) that says "I am depressed/anger so I will take out other people." Why they can't just limit the killing to just themselves and not take out other innocent people that have had nothing to do with the situation before killing themselves (usually), I don't know.
My mind harkens back to the Omaha mall killings where a man walked into a upscale mall store and killed several people before killing himself. *sigh*

Well, I just had to rant a bit as this is really bothering me.
